Review Process Policy

Educator Development Journal is committed to maintaining high standards of academic quality, originality, and integrity through a systematic and objective peer review process. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated in accordance with the journal's editorial policies and publication ethics.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

Every manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editor to assess its suitability for the journal's focus and scope, compliance with the author guidelines, completeness of the submission, and adherence to publication ethics. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at the initial stage.

2. Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewer selection considers academic qualifications, subject-matter expertise, objectivity, and potential conflicts of interest.

3. Peer Review Type

Manuscripts are evaluated by qualified reviewers in accordance with the journal's peer review system. Under a double-blind peer review system, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process.

4. Review Criteria

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Originality and novelty of the article.
  • Relevance to the journal's focus and scope.
  • Clarity of research objectives and questions.
  • Appropriateness of research methods and data analysis.
  • Quality of the results, discussion, and conclusions.
  • Relevance and currency of references.
  • Contribution to educational knowledge and practice.
  • Compliance with academic writing standards and publication ethics.

5. Reviewer Recommendations

Reviewers provide comments, suggestions, and recommendations to the editor. Recommendations may include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. The final decision rests with the editor.

6. Manuscript Revision

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers' comments and editorial instructions. Authors should address the comments appropriately and submit the revised manuscript through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform within the specified deadline.

7. Editorial Decision

The editor determines the final decision by considering the reviewers' evaluations, the quality of revisions, the manuscript's relevance to the journal's scope, and compliance with publication ethics. Decisions are communicated to authors through OJS or the journal's official communication channels.

8. Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest

All parties involved in the review process must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and related information. Reviewers and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect the impartiality of their evaluations.

9. Review Ethics and Objectivity

The review process is conducted fairly, independently, and objectively, based on the scholarly quality of each manuscript. Evaluations must not be influenced by personal background, institutional affiliation, gender, religion, or other factors unrelated to academic merit.

10. Review Timeline

The review process follows the journal's editorial workflow and schedule. The duration may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, revision requirements, and the authors' response time. Any estimated review period is determined by the journal's official policy.

11. Final Decision and Publication

Manuscripts approved for publication proceed to final editing, language and formatting checks, and publication preparation. Articles are published only after fulfilling the journal's editorial, technical, and publication ethics requirements.
