Authorship Criteria

Educator Development Journal (EDJ) requires all individuals listed as authors of a manuscript to have made genuine contributions to the research and preparation of the article. Each author must understand and accept their responsibility for the work submitted for publication.

To ensure fair, transparent, and ethical authorship, all authors must comply with the following criteria:

1. Author Contributions

Each author must make a meaningful contribution to the research, such as developing the research idea, designing the study, collecting or analyzing data, interpreting research findings, or drafting and critically revising the manuscript.

2. Approval by All Authors

All authors must read and approve the final version of the manuscript before submission. They must also agree to the inclusion of their names and the order in which the authors are listed.

3. Author Responsibilities

Each author is responsible for their own contributions and must cooperate in addressing any questions or concerns regarding the article's content, research data, or academic integrity.

4. Corresponding Author

One author must be designated as the corresponding author. The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editor, keeping all co-authors informed about the editorial process, and ensuring that all submission requirements are fulfilled.

5. Order of Authors

The order of authors must be agreed upon by all authors and should reflect their respective contributions. Any changes to the authorship or author order after submission must be justified and approved by all authors concerned.

6. Unethical Authorship Practices

The journal does not permit gift authorship, which involves listing individuals who have not made sufficient scholarly contributions, or ghost authorship, which involves excluding individuals who have made qualifying contributions. All authorship decisions must comply with ethical publication practices.

7. Acknowledgements

Individuals who provide technical assistance, facilities, funding, or administrative support but do not meet the authorship criteria may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section, where appropriate and with their consent.

8. Author Contribution Statement

For manuscripts written by more than one author, authors are encouraged to provide a clear and accurate statement describing each author's contribution. The journal may request this statement as part of the editorial process.

By submitting a manuscript to Educator Development Journal (EDJ), authors confirm that the authorship information provided is accurate, all listed authors have approved the submission, and the manuscript complies with ethical authorship standards.

The journal reserves the right to request clarification or take appropriate editorial action if inconsistencies or suspected authorship violations are identified.
